Insurance and Payment Options

The entire First Eye Care McKinney team believes that everyone deserves access to good vision health. We are dedicated to promoting eye health and education and will do everything we can to work with you. We accept several different types of vision insurance, as well as cash, checks, and most credit cards. We will also discuss any upcoming costs with you prior to your appointment to ensure there are no surprises. If you are in need of a comprehensive eye exam or interested in learning more about our glasses selection but are unsure of the costs, please do not hesitate to contact us. One of our friendly team members would be happy to discuss the various types of insurances we accept as well as what some of the options are for those without insurance.

We understand how intimidating it can be to realize you are in need of a visit to the eye doctor, only to be tight on funds. We will work with you and find a payment plan that works best for both of us. We truly believe that no one should avoid going to the eye doctor because they are worried they can’t afford it. At First Eye Care McKinney, our goal is to promote good eye health and enable you to have the clearest vision and best health possible. If you require a breakdown of costs, please let us know.

About Vision Insurance

It is important to keep in mind that vision insurance for eye exams varies. Some plans only cover routine, comprehensive eye exams, whereas others will not pay for your exam unless you have a specific medical eye condition or disease. Others require a referral from your primary care physician before they will cover the costs. This is why it is important to make sure you understand your policy prior to coming into our McKinney vision center. Be sure to check your policy to determine your coverage benefits, and if you have any questions or if something is unclear, please do not hesitate to stop by our office or give us a call.

Our compassionate and knowledgeable staff is experienced in working with vision insurance providers and patients. We will work directly with you and your vision insurer to submit claims regarding any care you receive. We strive to ensure that you understand your insurance coverage and will answer any questions you may have regarding your benefits. Many current vision plans are designed to cover most of the basic vision-related costs, but not all costs associated with eye care. Most plans often require a co-payment for an office appointment as well as additional fees for non-covered services and products.
